  1. When will I be able to request photographs of the moon?
    Although the GRAIL spacecraft will be launching in 2011, the camera won't be online until 2012. When the camera is online and ready to transfer digital images, we'll make this site availble to join and from then on users will be able to request specific pictures be taken.

  2. Who is this site for?
    Educators, education institutions and students in 5-8th grades.
  3. What are maria?
    The flat, dark terrain on the Moon.
  4. What is a crater?
    A bowl-shaped depression on the surface of a planet or moon caused by the impact of another body such as an asteroid or comet.
  5. What are highlands?
    The mountainous terrain on the Moon.
  6. What do the all of the acronyms mean?
